This documentary chronicles the lives of a group of young Egyptian girls in a very conservative small village in Upper Egypt who, despite family disapproval, form an all-female acting troupe.. Nada Riyadh & Ayman El Amir;In a remote village in Southern Egypt or Upper Egypt, a group of girls rebel against their own families' They are mocked by forming an all-female street theater troupe following strict traditions. The girls simply dreamed of becoming actresses, dancers and singers like many Egyptians in Lower Egypt. The short film was shot over the course of four years to capture the various periods in the lives of these girls, and Dream Edge follows them from childhood to womanhood and faces critical choices in their lives.
