The land grab threatens to destroy the declining dynasty
Scenario
When the vast Lawson cattle ranch is left without a legacy, rival factions in Australia sense an opportunity to take control. The series was filmed in the Northern Territory and South Australia in locations so remote they are barely inhabited – let alone on screen.
They are great actors
Filming locations include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park – with special permission from the traditional owners – and Tipperary Station, a real-life working cattle station so big it has its own airport and school. We really enjoyed this series.
Anna Torv is wonderful in a complex female antagonist
Robert Taylor was great in Longmeier, he makes a great grumpy old guy in a western style. We liked him on the Fringe but didn’t realize he was Australian because he lost his accent.
The same goes for Michael Dorman in All Mankind
It’s quite amazing how British and Australian/NZ actors can drop their accents and sound so American. It’s good that shows set in nature aren’t specific cities and constant violence.
If you liked “Yellowstone” you will like this
I really hope there is a second season.
