When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how they got Harrison Ford on the show, Segel said Goldstein originally wanted a “Ford-type Harrison,” and Ford’s own people would audition him. Segal told Goldstein that he wanted to at least bring the pitch to Ford, who he thought would turn it down immediately, but at least get other big-name actors interested so others would know that Harrison Ford had brought up the project.

Well, I finished it and it not only met my expectations, it exceeded them
First of all, I wanted to watch it as soon as I saw Harrison Ford and Jason Segel, but then, after reading all the positive reviews and seeing the trailer, my excitement grew even more. I wouldn’t say it’s the best show of the year, but it’s a good, original comedy that will have you laughing every episode.
